Bromley Tornado 1915
The tornado of July 7, 1915 did considerable damage to the community of Bromley. Numerous streetcar wires and telephone lines were blown down. In addition, many homes suffered the loss of shingles and windows. Major damage, however, occurred at the corner of Pike and Main Streets. The roof of George Rolsen’s saloon was blown off and dropped on a small home owned by Harry King. King’s home was completely destroyed. The roof of Henry Beckman’s saloon was also destroyed by the high winds. Fortunately, no one in Bromley was killed during the catastrophe.
