Bromley - Searp, William H.
William H. Searp was the town Marshal of Bromley. His brother, Harvey Searp, was Chief of Police in Ludlow from 1936 to 1964. Searp worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for many years from which he retired in 1946. William H. Searp resided at 231 Shelby Street in Bromley.
Searp was active in civic affairs in Bromley. He served on the school board, the board of equalization, was a member of the Bromley Christian Church and the Bromley Volunteer Fire Department (charter member). Searp was also a member of the Crescent Council Daughters of America and the Ivory Lodge No. 376 International Association of Machinists.
William H. Searp died on August 14, 1965 at Booth Memorial Hospital in Covington. He was 87 years of age. He was survived by his four children: Archie (who succeeded his father as town marshal), Elwood, Vernon and William. Services were held at Catherman & Jones Funeral Home in Ludlow with burial at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky.
